Exchange In Guests for Late Fall and Winter

Dear Interval International Exchange Guests,                   Amended November 17, 2020

Effective for exchange inbound reservations beginning after September 1, 2020, we are looking forward to having you vacation here at Harbor Ridge Resort in Southwest Harbor, Maine.  As we and our state government monitor the coronavirus (COVID-19) and its impact to our owners, guests, employees, and community, please know yours and our safety and well-being are of the utmost importance to us.

As of November 17,  2020, the State of Maine Executive Orders only exempts visitors from the states of New Hampshire and Vermont from the 14-day quarantine requirement or negative COVID-19 testing alternative.  The Administration is closely evaluating public health metrics in all states and may put into action quarantine or negative test requirements for New Hampshire and Vermont if trends do not improve.

On November 16, 2020, the State of Maine removed the exemptions for residents of Massachusetts, which had previously been exempt.  On November 1, 2020, the State of Maine removed the exemptions for residents of Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.  Residents from these states must now provide negative COVID-19 test results from a specimen taken no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival to forgo a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Maine.  For example, if you are scheduled to check-in on Saturday, the earliest that you can test is Wednesday.  We encourage families to set up appointments as soon as possible.

For all other out-of-state visitors, visitors must either quarantine for 14-days in Maine and bring their own provisions with them, or visitors may obtain a negative COVID-19 test from a specimen taken no longer than 72 hours prior to arrival to forgo the 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Maine. This test indicates that, even when coming from areas with a higher prevalence of the disease than Maine’s, such visitors are unlikely to have COVID-19 and to spread it to Maine residents and other visitors.  Individuals may be tested in Maine, but they must quarantine while awaiting the results.  Please review the Keep Maine Healthy plan, which aims to protect the health of Maine people and visitors while allowing the opportunity for people to visit Maine and support Maine small businesses.  All non-exempted guests to any Maine commercial lodging establishment, campground, seasonal rental, or short-term rental are required to complete a Certificate of Compliance prior to their stay.  Harbor Ridge guests must present this completed form at check-in.  As COVID-19 is ever changing in our nation, please understand that at any moment, the travel restrictions may change multiple times throughout the summer and fall.  Keep informed by viewing the Keep Maine Healthy website. 

Our state tourism’s motto is Know Before You Go!!!  This motto rests on three cornerstones: 1) having visitors certify that they have received a recent negative COVID-19 test to stay in lodging establishments as an alternative to quarantine; 2) increasing symptom checks at places where visitors tend to go; and 3) supporting community promotion of COVID-19 prevention best practices and public health education.

We ask that you let us know whether or not you will be arriving and on which day!  We have been preparing for your arrival, as we follow the recommendations of the CDC and the government.  It has been an overwhelming few months, and we ask for your patience as we put new protocols in place. 

As you arrive, we ask that one member of your family enter to check-in at the Clubhouse.  You will receive your welcome packet, and it will provide your unit number, internet access, restaurant information, and emergency numbers.

The Clubhouse amenities have reopened Monday thru Friday on a reservation basis one family at a time for 45 minutes.  Staff will be available by calling the Front Desk from your townhouse or by coming to the Front Desk.  The outside amenities may be used at your own risk.

We have amped up our sanitizing of your unit, and all used linens (including sheets, spreads, blankets, pillow protectors, mattress pads, towels, and shower curtains) will be completely replaced each week.  The diaries have been removed, and the unit book can be viewed on our website.

Unfortunately, it is recommended that we not host our welcome breakfast, our wine and cheese social hour, and our S’mores activity.  You are welcome to use the fire pit at your leisure within our posted guidelines.
