Out of State Owners for June, July, and August

For Out of State Owners and Exchange Visitors for June, July, and August (Amended June 14, 2020)

We hope this finds you and your family well.  You’ve probably been wondering what is happening at Harbor Ridge, specifically regarding COVID-19 and its impact on your pending vacation.  Please know yours and our safety and well-being are of the utmost importance to us.  As this virus continues around the country and our world, we are following State Executive Orders, Maine CDC Guidelines, and federal CDC recommendations to help prevent the spread of the virus.

On Friday, June 12,  2020, the State of Maine Executive Orders were amended by the Mills Administration.  They unveiled an alternative to the State’s 14-day quarantine requirement for people entering Maine. The multilayered plan, called Keep Maine Healthy, aims to protect the health of Maine people and visitors while allowing the opportunity for people to visit Maine and support Maine small businesses during the summer months.

Know Before You Go!!!  The plan rests on three cornerstones: 1) having visitors certify that they have received a recent negative COVID-19 test to stay in lodging establishments, such as hotels, as an alternative to quarantine; 2) increasing symptom checks at places where visitors tend to go; and 3) supporting community promotion of COVID-19 prevention best practices and public health education.

To help “Keep Maine Healthy,” guests of Maine commercial lodging establishments, campgrounds, seasonal rentals, or
short-term rentals are required to complete a Certificate of Compliance prior to their stay.  This initiative promotes the safety of Maine
residents and visitors coming to enjoy all Maine has to offer. Guests under the age of 18, or residents of Maine, New
Hampshire and Vermont, do not need to fill out the Certificate of Compliance.

This alternative comes as testing capacity in states continues to expand and testing restrictions continue to relax. According to the National Governors Association, more than half of states no longer limit testing to people with symptoms or to a close contact who has COVID-19 while more than a dozen states allow anyone to be tested.

We ask that you let us know whether or not you will be arriving!  We have been preparing for your arrival, as we follow the recommendations of the CDC and the government.  It has been an overwhelming few weeks, and we ask for your patience as we put new protocols in place.

As you arrive, you will find your welcome envelope by the Clubhouse front door, and it will provide your unit number, internet access, restaurant information, and emergency numbers.

The Clubhouse amenities and the Front Desk will be closed for the time being.  Staff will be available by calling the Front Desk from your townhouse.

The outside amenities may be used at your own risk.

We have amped up our sanitizing of your unit, and all used linens (including sheets, spreads, blankets, pillow protectors, mattress pads, towels, and shower curtains) will be completely replaced each week.  The diaries have been removed, and the unit book can be view on our website.

Unfortunately, it is recommended that we not host our breakfast, our wine and cheese social hour, and our S’mores activity.  You are welcome to use the fire pit at your leisure within our posted guidelines.

Some owners in our database have out-of-state addresses due to being snowbirds from the State of Maine.  If you are a Maine snowbird and you will have completed isolation in Maine for 14-days, you are welcome to come for your week; however, you should bring documentation stating of your arrival date here in Maine (e.g. toll booth receipt, campground receipt).    Please let us know immediately that you plan to come for your week.

What is Harbor Ridge offering its out-of-state owners who are still uncomfortable travelling due to the high risks of COVID19?   We have been depositing off peak winter weeks with Interval International, which would allow owners to take a vacation within Interval’s system sometime within the next 2½ years. (Interval memberships must be valid through May 2021.)  Another option is that owners could take two owner getaway weekends this winter at Harbor Ridge depending on availability.  Some owners have their weeks in the rental pool; however, we anticipate a very low number of rentals this summer.  We are trying our very best to work within our limitations and the restrictions of our inventory.  Please keep in mind that we have been rescheduling owners since mid-March, and it is a very daunting task.  We are not a hotel…we are an already booked resort of owners!!!

If you have friends or family in Maine, you may allow them to use your week.  You just need to call us with their name, address, phone number, and email address.  Advance notice is required.

To discuss alternative options, you may call Margaret and Annette to speak with them directly daily 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.  If we do not immediately answer, leave a message, and we’ll  call you back.

Please understand that at any moment, the travel restrictions may change multiple times throughout the summer and fall.  Keep informed by viewing the Keep Maine Healthy website.  Many of Maine’s tourists live in “hot spots,” and our state leadership is trying to protect the people in our communities, so we can welcome everyone safely.

Some have said that your numbers in Maine are low.  Yes, in the large picture, our numbers are low; however, our first cases appeared much later than the rest of the country.  Our Maine healthcare system has very limited resources, especially our local hospitals.

Thank you for your continued understanding.   Wash your hands, practice physical distancing, and stay healthy!!!   We love our owners, and we appreciate your cooperation and patience during these crazy times!  We are all in this together!  We look forward to having you safely enjoy your vacation.
